M25 traffic: Britain’s busiest motorway grinds to a halt due to crash sparking chaos for 1000s heading to airport
The works come as part of plans to reduce delays around Junction 10 – the most crowded section of the motorway.Two lanes have been shut between J29 (Upminster) and J30 (Thurrock) on the M25 causing severe delays.The closure has been in place since Friday (11 April) – sparking chaos for drivers in the Milford and Wisley area.BRITAIN’S busiest motorway has ground to a halt following a crash – sparking chaos for thousands heading to the airport.This comes as the A3, which which is used by thousands every day and connects to the M25, remains closed until Monday due to road works. Essex Police confirmed no injuries have been reported and the incident is being dealt with by the National Highways team.

“Due to the volume of traffic and the resulting queues, this area of their network has a very poor safety record and holds one of the highest collision rates across the National Highways network.”Their improvements will reduce delays, smooth traffic flow and create safer journeys for all.”A statement on Surrey County Council’s website read: “Junction 10 is the busiest section of the M25, with over 270,000 vehicles travelling through it every day.Drivers will be unable to use the stretch between the M25 Junction 10 and A3 Wisley interchange.
