A MUM has pleaded guilty to killing her “cheeky” son after he was found dead at home, but has denied murder.The 35-year-old spoke only to confirm her name and thank Judge Samantha Leigh during the brief hearing.Lincoln Button, five, was discovered at the property in South Ockendon, Essex, after police were called over welfare concerns.Police previously confirmed she was taken to hospital for treatment and arrested once her condition improved.

She denied murdering Lincoln but admitted unlawfully killing him by manslaughter.It added: “His love for school, laughter and cuddles will be remembered and missed dearly.Claire Button appeared at Basildon Crown Court today charged with murder.His devastated family said: “Link was a cherished, loved, sweet, beautiful young soul who was adored by all and will be sorely missed every day.”
